I love when food makes it fun to come up with ideas on how to serve it! That's how I feel about pita bread or pita pockets. Today on Family Food Live, 5 Fun Ways to Enjoy Pita Bread.. These recipes should also spark ideas on other unique creations!

Creamy Avocado Hummus with Pita Bread

This Creamy Avocado Hummus recipe will change your life — if you like hummus that is! It's a wonderful take on a classic recipe that is perfect with pita bread

Pita Bread Pizza

Shopping List:

  • Whole Wheat or White Pita Breads
  • Pizza sauce
  • Yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
  • Fresh Basil

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Spread 2 spoonfuls of pizza sauce over the top of the pita bread
  • Add a handful of mozzarella cheese until you cover the sauce
  • Spread out a few slices of yellow bell pepper and basil
  • Put in the oven for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted
  • Serve

Apple & Goat Cheese Pita

Shopping List

  • Whole Wheat or White Pita Bread
  • 1 Apple, sliced
  • Spinach
  • Dried Cranberries
  • Goat Cheese, crumbled

Instructions

  • Cut your pita bread in half
  • Fill each half with spinach, apple slices, dried cranberries and goat cheese
  • Serve

Scrambled Egg Pita Sandwich

Shopping List

  • Whole Wheat or White Pita Bread
  • 2 Eggs
  • Pico de Gallo
  • Mexican Cheese, shredded

Instructions:

  • Heat up pita bread in a skillet or toaster oven
  • Using a skillet, scramble eggs
  • Cut pita bread in half and fill with the eggs, top with some cheese and pico
  • Serve

Strawberry Balsamic Pitas

Shopping List

  • Whole Wheat or White Pita Bread
  • Strawberries, sliced
  • Spinach
  • Goat Cheese, crumbled
  • Balsamic Vinegar for drizzling

Instructions:

  • Cut pita bread in half
  • Fill each side with spinach, sliced strawberries and goat cheese
  • Drizzle with balsamic vinegar
  • Serve
