Talking Policy, Politics, and Publishing with Politico’s Dan Diamond

Featured Topic Image - Once In A Weil (640 x 360 at 72 PPI)

Last week I was interviewed for Politico's Pulse Check podcast about my role as Editor-in-Chief of Health Affairs and how the journal shapes health policy. Increasingly, influencing policy means not only informing public officials and lawmakers, but also private actors, like health plans and hospitals. Providing the evidence that shapes policy isn't just about individual studies that grab headlines, but rather about building a continuum of research over time. Our discussion is nearly 45 minutes and covers a broad range of topics, including partisan politics, Medicaid and welfare reform, and the increased role of the media in disseminating health research.

Listen for more from "behind the scenes" at Health Affairs—how we decide what to accept and our goals for the research we publish in our pages.
