Are you hitting the road this summer?  If so, you are probably looking for the perfect snacks that are easy and convenient for the road!   Today at 12 Noon CST on Family Food Live with Holly & Chris we will share 5 Family Foods for a Road Trip!  These foods are not only for the kiddos but for mom and dad too! And when it comes to a road trip, it’s all about the storage!

If you want to follow along, here’s a look at today’s recipes:

No-Bake Peanut Butter Balls

This may be one of my all-time favorite on the go snacks or meals. It’s perfect for a road trip. And this No-Bake Peanut Butter Balls recipe is super easy.

Chocolate Trail Mix Clusters

Shopping List:

  • 1/2 Cup Dark Chocolate Chips
  • Trail Mix
  • Parchment Paper

Instructions:

  • Heat up the Dark Chocolate Chips
  • Using a spoon scoop out a drop of chocolate and put on parchment paper
  • Place the trail mix on top of the chocolate and press down slightly
  • Put in the refrigerator for 45 minutes to an hour to harden

Road Trip Surprise

Shopping List:

  • Mini fish tackle box
  • Snacks of choice including; pretzels, mini Oreos, yogurt pretzels, trail mix, dried fruit, M&Ms, and a lot more

Instructions:

  • Have your kids fill the box with their favorite snacks before the trip — they will be happy for hours:)

Salami with Mozzarella Cheese

Shopping List:

  • Salami slices
  • Mozzarella sticks
  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • Toothpicks

Instructions:

  • Cut the mozzarella sticks into thirds
  • Fold the salami slices and stick toothpick through the salami
  • Layer the mozzarella sticks and tomatoes on the toothpick
  • Store in lunch box storage

Cucumber Cream Cheese Sandwiches

Shopping List:

  • White bread, crusts removed
  • Plain Cream Cheese
  • Mint
  • 1 large Cucumber, sliced paper-thin

Instructions:

  • After removing the crust from the bread, spread cream cheese on bread
  • Spread mint on cream cheese
  • Top with cucumber slices
  • Cut into mini sandwiches
  • Store in lunch box storage
